Hash oil, mmmmmm, how u smoke that? is it he "squidgy black" stuff? or is it proper oil? coz ive heard u either soak tobacco in it or soak a rizla in it? ive never had the oil but the squidgy is pretty nice, roll sausages. lol.

Posts: 1,874Posted 16 years ago #I don't actually have the oil myself, my mate does, but we're gonna give it a go tonight... It's horrendously strong, so i doubt I'll smoke more than 1 doob. We usually just wipe a line of it down a skin, soaking baccy in it would kill you i think ha ha... It's proper liquidy, like syrup or something. Crazy ish... -

HAHA! Ima have to keep an eye out for that. I remember hitting sum ICE Kush on a vapouriser in amsterdam just had to sit down and contemplate sh!t. lol.

basically, louis theroux goes to places in america and visits children aged between 6 and 16 who take various medications to deal with things like ADHD, Asbergers, hyperactivity etc, the thing that shocked me was the child aged 6.
Now im pretty familiar with various illegal substances, i know they have their benifits and also have their dangers but these legal substances which they give children, no one seems to question it. The dangers are still the same, addiction and reliance but these dont seem adressed.
I dont really know what else to say, just thought i would post it up and see if anyone has any experiences and opinions?

Posts: 1,874Posted 16 years ago #yeah I watched the tail end of that programme. I dunno man, I'm not a psychologist, but that sh!t doesn't sit right with me. No one really knows the effect these drugs have on cognitive and social development... I mean, none of these drugs actually sort out the root problem, they tend to just nullify symptoms. I think, obviously, that this doesn't apply to every case, but that anti-depressants, anti-ADD/ADHD drugs are prescribed way too much. I think these are problems that can be fixed with lifestyle changes, like diet, excercise, activity. But too many people are lazy, and it's just easier to put a pill down a kids throat.
I also think a lot of drs and psychologists have dubious investment in the drug industry in many ways, and you've got to ask if the massive level of prescribing of these drugs is really in the kids best interests. Interesting topic.
I think we'll see a knock on effect in that generation when the grow up. They'll be the perfect sheep no doubt... -

As an aside, I almost battered my brother when I found out he was using ADHD drugs whilst he was at uni to help him focus on studying. I thought that chat was so ridiculous. Why put chemicals in your brain as a substitute for getting down to work?! He was in St Andrews Uni, and there's loads of american kids there who are all doing it.
American Friends: Is there a lot of this going on in schools/colleges in the states? Chemically enhanced studying? Trench, you ever come across this?
It seems to be received as far more acceptable than taking illegal drugs for some reason. Cos a cop told you so or some sh!t.

Have you seen that episode where homer is a long distance trucker and he takes loads of sleeping pills by accident, and then has to take loads of pep pills to balance it out... effing hilarious. -
