   So I take it none of you london cats went to the DOOM (all caps when you spell the man's name) gig in London at the weekend there? It was pretty amazing to see the super villain in the flesh, but the venue wasn't great for a hip hop gig. Back acoustics, and a terrible sound system, meant that no one could really make out any of his chat or lyrics. They did terribly in the warm up too, no hip hop, just a noise artist and then some house music. Wrong crowd for that sh!t...
   
   Hilariously though, he sent out this tiny skinny guy in his mask, who started rapping accordian grinder, and everyone went absolutely apesh!t with rage, thinking they'd been bumped... I had to calm down a couple of rudebwoys in the front row who were talking about stealin all the sh1t and going home...
   
   But then he came out and rocked the joint. It was a bit of a disappointing gig, but overall I'm happy. How many people can say they've seen the metal faced villain in the flesh...

   He performed in Chicago a few weeks ago (didn't go, not really a fan), but he pulled the same stunt of sending out the "tiny" guy. Apparently, DOOM never performed that night.

   D*mn, that's a crazy stunt. How p*mp is that tho? To just have someone else do your concert? Sure, it's not cool for the fans, but... "Hey, Tiny, go out and rock my set. Tell me what happened. I'll be out in the tour bus with a sack and some booty."

   What?! I always thought that an impostor came only for a short part of the show, then doom actually performed. If you pay for a doom show, and don't get what you payed for, i'm not sure I can dig it.

   yea, I didn't hit up the ldn show cos I figured it was 50/50 just be a doomposter...
   
   apparently two fake dooms came out before the big man appeared and rocked it. Heard the sound at the show was awful though?! :/

   Oh yoyopo, you missed out mate, he was always going to show up... I knew he would, I travelled down from edinburgh. But i'm a HUGE doom fanatic. He rocked the joint HARD for 45 minutes. Sure, short show, but it was DOOM!!!
   
   Only one fake doom came out, and he was literally there for about 30 seconds.
   
   As for the sound, you know, it wasn't great, but that wasn't doom's fault, it was the jackasses at the round house, they didn't have a f*cking clue.
   
   Any of you london cats who missed out shoulda gone, that was a once in a life time chance on your doorstep... Well it was for me anyways, each to their own and all that.

   Roundhose you say, was this that "taste of sonar" event? held over two days? fair bit of electronic shannanigans? DAMN! i was going to that but had to sell my ticket to 1 of my mates due to finances. £50 for the weekend wasnt it? couple of good DJs? i wonder if DOOM will be rocking the main sonar event in barcelona this year? hopfully i cn get money 4 that.

   yeah it was the taste of sonar... was a bit of a joke though, apart from DOOM there was a mental AV show (inappropriate for a hip hop warm up) and two of the wackest DJ's i've ever seen... like techically wack, loads of dead air, playing sh!tey tunes... wtf...
   
   I don't even think DOOM is playing Sonar, i think this 2 show tour was a one off. I'm definitely gonna try and catch him in the states at some point, there's too many songs that i didn't hear on friday...
   
   Sonar comes highly recommended by a few mates though. Finding a place to stay is difficult apparently. Gotta love Barce, it's absolutely chock full of honey dips.

   Sonar is V.V.V. good, but only if you like electronic (dance) music, ive been twice and loved it twice, they do have the ocasional random artist though (madness played in 08, which was odd, had everyone skanking. lol) certainly in my opinion the best festival ive been to, really wanna go to cochella though. damn student money and recession means i got no surplus cash ATM.

    I was front and centre the whole damn time, apart from 10 minutes where i let the photographer get in front of me for those shots! ha ha... The crowd was immense i have to say. It was like a real life version of the PUTS forum, I was geeking out like there was no tomorrow, geeking up TO THE MAX!
    
    Yeah i'd love to go to Sonar. Gonna get a crew together i think. I'm into the electronic music, as long as i've got my plastic coke bottle full of yaeger and my sweeties it's all good.

    Cool man, who knows, with any luck ill see you out in sonar. BTW, try the hostels, theres sum really decent 1ns out there for a good price or if enough of u can get ur stuff 2geva go down the apartment route so u can have a chill pre and post club, i can almost guarantee that the 48 hours its on ull be out tho, jus ava few days either side to collect ur thoughts and enjoy the city.
