Alright, we all dig, we all know what happens when we dig. We get hungry, we get dirty fingers, we lose track of time, ect.
If you were going to market a record-digging kit, what would it include?
I would make it out of a portable turntable with a first-aid kit inside when you open it up. It would have:
Baby wipes for our dusty fingers.
Razor blade for sliting the plastic on sealed records (Shhhh....)
disinfectant for the deep excursions.
and an MRE Meal-Ready-to-Eat (used by Military in field envirnments.)
I'm sure you veteran diggers can think of a few more.
I just think it would be a fun idea.

It includes: Rubber Gloves (Good for digging through molded, water damaged covers..Tragic)
A dustmask. I am alergic to just about everything. When diggin deep in the Junk Shop don't be embarrased to cover up...Best way to avoid the black booger digging syndrome.
Toilet paper. My man Newman has taken a dump in every record spot I ever hipped him to. Just in case....
A staple. Yes a small staple gun sized staple because the razorblade is to conspicous and potentially dangerous when trying to be DL. Slip the staple through the plastic wrap, run it straight down and viola.
Cash.
MRE sounds a little frantic. I always try to hit the indy Burger Spots but a powerbar comes in handy (Thes One flavor=Chocolate PeanutButter)
Bottle of Water.
AND MOST IMPORTANT: Headphones. Can't let the other cats know what you are turning up. So turn it down. -

Wantlist- I usually keep mine in my brain, but sometimes I can forget.
Mousetraps- You've just spent your last penny, and then you see a record you want . The mousetrap comes in handy till you get paid again.
A Bag that isn't plastic - Once, only once have the records ripped through a plastic bag, I don't want that sh!t to happen again.
A Weapon of some sort- Some record shop owners can be a tad bit lairy. -
Posted 21 years ago #HaHa. Score!!! My mom just gave me her old Panasonic AM/FM Record player from 66' I'm hittting the shops with a vengeance now!!!!
I believe you on the weapon tip, I'll tell you what, I went to a shop in Baltimore that was the size of a small room, had green lights inside, and they were playing kung-fu flicks loud as hell. When I walked in, these two creepy guys just stared at me like, "He looks like a good guy to join our cult". I was like, "Okay, no hip-hop, I'm out, Peace!!" Cried all the way home.

Burgers at the spot always make me rock. -
Posted 21 years ago #You know what, you should include a foldable chair, like those coleman camping ones. My legs have fallen asleep more than once sitting on my haunches listening.
