Yo fellow B-Boys, MC's, and Hip-Hop Force Wielders,
I've been smashing through the Mithai mix Thes so graciously reprinted for available consumption, and the middle track titled "Viva Peru" has got to be one of the hottest "patria" tracks since I caught the Mariachi Vargas version of "Guadalajara".
Anyways, I'm trying to expand my knowledge of Peru beyond this, Inca Cola, and Jabba's language (Peruvian in root, though I need to check with someone on this), so if all you cats could help expand this homey's dig list, it would be very appreciated. I'm already knee deep in Mongo Santamaria and Willie Bobo, so peruvian-styled Latin Jazz isn't a must, but just as appreciated.
Lo appreciado desde A-Town,
Paz y Salud a Todos

A good place to start, word to OST, is Black Sugar. -
Posted 21 years ago #Homeboy, por favor! I respect the dirt you've waded through, and keeping those beatiful gems stocked for a rainy day mix for the Walkman. All I needed was a place to start, I'm looking for that particular gem on my own, and I'll probably discover it when I eventually make it down to Lima and can put in some serious work 'round las Americas Sur y Central. Thank you for a beginning to the quest, for that I am most appreciated, and I promise I'll spot you an Inca Cola with Rum if I can get some.
