So La Roja have come away from today as the best futbol team in the world. Oranje come so close again, but only to taste the sour sting of defeat.
As a youngster I think that the spanish national team is one of the best teams i have ever seen play. even though there last four games were all won 1-0. they are still an incredibly talented team and play extremely well together.
Great world cup by South Africa. much love for all my human amigos.

Turned out to be a very chippy, (based on nigel de jong's flying straight kick against xabi alonso i'd say chunky) game, but overall I am glad to see spain win. They really earned it. -

Yeah the better team won. I was routing for the dutchies though... But it's about f*ckin time that the spanish won a world cup... Euro's and the World Cup? That's what you call DOMINATION!!!
I wish I could've been in Barcelona or Madrid last night, it would've been one of the biggest parties ever...

People in Barca were all (or at least half of 'em) rooting for Netherlands.
There's still a troublesome relationship between Barcelona and the rest of Spain, because of the past and their status as an autonomous region.
There was a big protest of about a million the day before the game in Barcelona.
They showed a documentary over here about the tensions, a kid got a Spain shirt from his dad and his mother wanted to burn it.
About the game, the better team definitely won (no doubt about that) so congrats to Spain, best team in the world. -

I know all about the catalonia/rest of spain issues, and their drive for independence and the terrorism and all that, but I didn't realise that it crept into the football too. Most of the spanish team are Catalan for f*cks sake... that's crazy.
We didn't see anything on TV over here about that sh1t whatsoever. They were obviously keen to keep it quiet.
To be honest, I think the germans are the best team in the world, but they just couldn't pull it out the bag against the spanish tactics... they weren't attacking enough, they sat back to nervously. If they'd gone for spain from the off, they would've won that game I reckon... -
