   So it's been awhile since I've been on the forum, and it just seemed tooquiet of late so I had to share this. I'm sure may of you fine people use discogs for buying vinyl. If you do, you are probably familiar with the emails that they send you about new items that have been recently put up for sale that are on your "wish list". At some point A few years ago I had added this tuxedo rap promo 12" from "dj bootsy boots" and I always would get emails saying it was avialable. For whatever reason, (my guess would be just the added cost of international postage, and not being really sure what it really was...don't remember ever hearing anyone on here taking about it etc) I put off picking up a copy for a while. Randomly a few weeks ago I got one of those emails and happened to look at it and saw they still had copies available. I decided "f*** it! I need to figure out what a this thing is!" It just came in the mail yesterday, and it is funky as hell and definitely a hidden gem. I just wanted to pass it on for any vinyl collector of PUTS...it's worth the 20 bucks for whatever it ends up being with shipping. I'm not sure what level of involvement mike and chris had with the production of it, and I'm not a big fan of the b side. But I definetly dig the soul sisters remix of the classic P track.

   I remember seeing these in a few stores when they first came out...
   As far as I know it's basically an unofficial remix by "DJ Bootsy Boots" and came out on a bootleg label. Their other release is a bizarre affair with Mark Ronson edits of Kanye West and Robbie Williams!?! Ugh.

   Snippets here if anyone wants to peep it.

   (Should be cheap for those located in the UK, but if anyone stateside needs a copy I might be able to help - definitely wouldn't recommend spending $20 or more on this.)

   Hahaha, people were MAAD on that thread.

   I don't see any reason to get worked up about a poorly executed "remix" attempt TBH:
   If you decide to put your own spin on something that was originally produced by someone who's a true master of their craft like Thes, chances are good you'll come off looking the fool.
   I'd have to say this wasn't a particularly good effort, the vocals didn't really sit right on the beat as far as I was able to tell from the brief listen I gave it and it wasn't like the new backdrop created a totally different feel for the track either... What surprised me the most was that someone must've felt this was good enough/had enough potential to press it up and sell it..?!?

   There's plenty of weak remixes from aspiring "producers" to be found on youtube/soundcloud nowadays and perhaps such attempts factor into some artists' decision to not give out separate acapellas etc. to begin with, but on the flipside I can think of many great remixes and/or other unofficial tracks that came out in such an under the radar manner and without explicit consent of the creators/owners, so I'm not about to knock the format...
   In fact I'm about to pull out some Vinyl Reanimators whitelabels right about now.

   Didn't mean to rain on your discovery, bro. I know it can be a great rush coming up on something that seems "obscure"... Unfortunately I'm inclined to agree with the general consensus that this doesn't qualify as musical dope.
