Does anyone have any information on the construction of PL70A? I recall an interview I read somewhere not too long after Stepfather was released about Thes having to install a transformer in order to eliminate the buzzing he was getting on his old Neve counsel and suspending insulation between the studs in the walls because his newborn was in the next room. I did some googling and was only able to find a thread on MPC forums eluding to a Remix Magazine article but I can't find the article itself.

Yes dude I remember this and I think I have the original Remix article on file somewhere (pretty sure it was up on the old version of this site).

I also have a few photos from the construction I got from Thes that I can post up! Pretty sure he built it in the years between OST and Stepfather, and that's where Stepfather was recorded as well as Fun DMC and Carried Away.

The studio at his current house is PL70B I believe and it looks like he upped his game a lot to build that one! That must have been around 2010 as Highlighter which came out 2011 was recorded there as well as some of DJ Day's Land of 1000 Chances.

I remember this! I believe Oliver Wang had Thes give him the design specs for his shelves when he built his out too. Funny thing is I'm getting ready to build my record room and was going to try and dig some photos up... No need now, thanks Po!
