Never really being successful, you know? We're never really like the darling of a certain era or genre, or there wasn't a time when the critics were all over us or the internet was all over us. So, it allowed us to basically be us and not get caught up in trends or hype. It just means that people are comfortable with what we do as us, and that's really been helpful. That, and a strong work ethic. I'll wake up at like six in the morning and start doing work, whether it's music or putting product out or whatever.

Posts: 57Posted 15 years ago #Cool interview. However, I was bummed about Thes's thoughts on the SXSW festival. That is a great festival in my opinion. A live-music fan like myself appreciates a festival that successfully fits in so much live music in a span of a few days. C'mon Thes, show some love to SXSW!

Posts: 3,255Posted 15 years ago #Yeah, mambo, that's my favorite part of the interview... and about getting a book out, I'll be your f*ckin' biographer, homies!!! (They probably already have one, haha.) I feel like I've read every dang interview they gave, and I've done a lot of research already, and I write pretty d*mn well, if I do say so myself... even got the Great Wall story from KK after the Sacto show. I just wish we could get a taste of the original KK, Thes, & Smile Oak SF demos.
BUT... I'm sure they are other homies out there who'd be better equipped to do... just sayin'
