So... UK cats, and those who care, who is watching the royal wedding today? I certainly wont be, and while im not anti royal (like some of my mates who are going up there to kick up a fuss today) i still dont agree with how in this day and age, their position is determined by their "bloodline" and who they marry into.
Any thoughts on this? would we be better off with a republic? or is having a royal good for the economy and a sense of national pride?
Thoughts please!!!

Well i am currently sitting at work trying to avoid the hype. I must say i am pretty anti royal as i believe that all men (women) are created equal and i do not believe that the "Royal" family have anymore right to rule over me as i do them. I think they are a drain on the country in terms of the taxes we pay to keep them in crowns. I know they create money for the country due to tourism but i believe this country has enough history now that people would still visit us to see "where they used to live" etc etc
The actual british royal line is so tainted that in acutal fact what we have is a german royal line and as such the british royal family no longer exsist anyway.
As for National pride....Olympics next year then bring on the next world/euro cup.....these days that is where the pride comes from or not if you seee what i mean.

I feel rude for saying it.. but i could give a damn about this wedding! lol.. i mean I hope they work out, have a beautiful life and i wish the best.. but i really dont understand the big deal..i know they are royalty so im sure for UK cats it is much more meaningful and important. I jsut wouldn't want my wedding on blast like that.

could someone drop some knowledge about what thhe families purpose is ?? I really dont know. Is the queen something like a president here?? is she ruling by herself? what do they do for the country? you dont have to get too deep or anything but I have never understood what their purpose is/was

the royal family are an integral part of our country - they are our history! They don't do much ruling, I think it's worth having them to keep things entertaining. Being a republic is boring!
I didn't really watch the wedding but The Guardian's (Not) The Royal Wedding was hilarious -

BUT I did watch it and I enjoyed it!
Just coz you've come out the right fanny doesnt mean you should get to be filthy rich and wear crowns and shizzle.
But how often in my life will this happen and pretty much everyone is going to be talking about it (its on this forum!!!) so I watched it. It was entertaining and then I went to my local and got on it...
But then later I got barred haha!
FYI. I didnt do anything wrong, honest gov'nor!

I like the whole event of royal wedding .I like Kat very much & her dressing style .whenever i seen her in news with different Evening Gowns ,cocktail dresses or any Party Dresses . I like her dressing choice and its very elegant.
