So for all you beat makers/djs out there... Whats your creative process?
Do you have any rituals you have to go through before you really get in the groove or is it just on the fly?
I usualy like to meditate. smoke a big fatty, and pick up some bevi's before i try to whip up a masterpiece hehe (indulge me on this one lmao)

But things like films, the records I buy and music inspire me.

Posts: 524Posted 21 years ago #Ritual, I usually wait until later at night, when I get kind of sleepy. The musical genius inside me works best then. I not a smoker(two lung surgeries)so I need to be tired to relax and get that head nodding swing into my beats. That's my only real ritual tho, I guess if I could indulge in the herbalonics I would but I can't. Making a beat when your drunk is a no-no, haha I can't edit loops when I'm buzzin haha.

i dont think i have a routine, i just live my day, painting, rapping, workin at a school, girls, graffiti battles and fights, collecting vinyl....all that influences me and i dont try to create something it just flows out and before i know it, its a beat, piece, tag, bomb, or anything ya know where im getting at? -

Going to wack hip hop shows and clubs (sometimes dope ones too) get me amped up to go back home and start punching out the morse code on the MPC. -

Posts: 524Posted 21 years ago #haha Word thes, I went to a wack hip-hip show here in florida, dude was rockin his lyric "instrumental" and there was absolutelty no crowd connection. I could rock the mic better than that..........ahh But it made me wanna go home and get some good sh!t together like u say.
