Posts: 381Posted 14 years ago #Fortunately there are a lot of other releases this month to keep my ears happy :) Really I don't know what it is about September but a ton of artists are putting out work now. DJ Shadow, Oddisee, DTMD, J-Live, Death In Vegas, Ladytron, Plaid, Brad Mehldau, Roots Manuva, Apparat, Smoke DZA (Okay that came out August 30th but I'm only getting it in the mail this week).

For legal reasons we can't start taking your money until a number of days before we will ship the album, tempting as it may be since this 2xLP is costing us double what most 2xLPs cost to manufacture - when we say deluxe packaging, we mean it - it's been an immense amount of work at every step as Thes and I have literally spent hours flipping through paper stocks and fine-tuning the layout, but we're really proud to be putting out such high quality vinyl.
Headed out to the printing press tomorrow, will snap some photos for you guys of the manufacturing process.
Thanks to everyone on the forum for the support and excitement - when it's nearing midnight and we've been working since 9 AM, reading the comments keep all of us going.

Posts: 584Posted 14 years ago #Well you have just sold yourself the 2xLP (for the collection) and of course i need to pick up the CD for everyday use.....I work in the printing business in the UK so i know the pleasure and pain of looking at paper stocks. I could be a real geek and ask what printing method you guys are using....but i won't!!! I love a textured board

Hey spelunk: if you guys are offering multiple shipping options for the album, which one will be the safest for vinyl? (if there's only one option, nevermind...) I've had bad vinyl shipping experiences before, and I'm not just talking spine tears... My deluxe vinyl edition of Radiohead's In Rainbows (and that sucker was thick cardboard) came to me F*CKED up... Whether it was the overseas travel or my local mailman being a douche, I don't know... Just curious if you have something to say on it... Thanks, man!
Yeah, MrQc, I'm a classy guy about textured papers too, but there is one kind of paper for which I have no use for texture whatsoever... TOILET paper (yeeeeeow!)... And as long as I'm joking, may I be the first person to say that I hope this album is the "highlight" of my year? *que corny laughter now*
