I showed up early enough to catch the fellas pre-show. Thes settin' up the merch table. Double sqeezin' off a few a rounds of "Buck Hunter". The place is more or less empty except a couple folks at the bar. It's a F'n hole in the wall. The Alley is not much more than an alley. I felt embarrassed that these two...Masters, should play a sold out House of Blues and two nights later come play some rat hole in Sparks. My town has someplace better to play. It serves its purpose as a venue but, we can do better. We will do better. It kinda put me in weird place but Mike & Chris put on a happy face and let me say hi. Thanks guys.

Came back about an hour later, after gettin some dinner. I kinda hung off to the side through the sound check. Double cut some...Eric B & Rakim, I think. I heard through hearsay that they were using borrowed equipment? DQMOT.

Opening Act; not sure so much, I was drinkin with my friends but, I bobbed my head to a few bass lines.

Second Act; refer to Opening Act.

Got to the side of the stage at the start of the Headline Attraction. Easily. There was 150 people maybe? Again, I'm ashamed for my town. They're a little slow. However, once the lights dropped, the PUTS put on, by far and away, the best hip hop show this town has ever seen. Hands down. Our little crowd pulled together pretty damn good if I do say so myself. We do like our beer! Anyways, sorry, they rocked nonstop and I was amazed how these two can get it together and bring the energy, night after night and put on such polished, solid performance. I left with a new respect for Mike & Chris. I feel you guys deserve more. I shoulda spent more money at the table. I still need that ladies large WRLA. Gotta get it.

In closing, I can't thank the P enough for comin to my town. I hugely appreciated every minute of it and sincerely hope to have that opportunity again. If I do, I promise to bring twice as many people. Please keep on keeping on. You keep makin em, I'll keep buying em and spreadin the word. Thanks.

P.S.- Get some sleep.

Dope show review. I want the fellas to come to Memphis, TN, but I fear it would be a similar situation, with about 150 people showing up. Idk though...its just that most of the people in Memphis dig more on the commercial rap dirty south stuff which don't get me wrong, some of that sh!t is good. A lot of it is absolutely godawful. Anyways, I feel your pain. If they came through and my city didn't rep I would be disappointed as well. But don't get down, you got to see the P!! I don't have much faith in my home town; people are fickle and a good portion of them are not the brightest crayons in the box.........take er easy, g

Thanks G. I don't mean to dis the owner of the club but, IMHO, the P should be in a first class venue everytime.

Oh don't feel bad. They're are some totally sh!t venues where I live that I can't believe anyone would want to book, but they do...so....lol

Ahh, I know. I'll just use it to set my resolve to head over the hill and catch them in the city. Better still, when is the Tahoe show?! I can rally troops for that show for sure.

Nice review for the show. Glad the P were actually able to hit up Sparks (my mom lived there for a long time when she was a kid). Don't be disappointed by the amount of people in the crowd; some areas just don't get the same levels of promotion that other area do, and a cozy, smaller show might actually give them a bit of a break from a huge venue like House of Blues.

Not saying that they won't try as hard (they definitely give each show their all!), but from what I know of the guys (and I've gotten to chill with them twice this month now), the code word is "chill", and anytime that they don't have to put in a gang of high-level, frenzied work and they can focus on each individual fan more, they seem happy to do so. And I think they revel in the fact that they can do smaller shows at more remote areas and still have people coming out to shows.

But you still should definitely come down and see them in a big Cali venue and absolutely cop that WRLA shirt, fo sho. Higher energy, and with bigger crowds, you can act more stoopid without worrying about drawing attention to yourself (ask Spitta about last night, I was going straight dumb.) Of course, you ladies can do pretty much anything at shows anyway... we guys'll be just fine with it, haha.

Thanks Sactown. Im definitely picking up what you're putting down. I think I'm just being selfish. I wanted the boys to want to come back here. The fact that I had a blast and was able to meet and thank them in person is completely irrelevant to me. I just wanted them to have fun. I also wanted to see them make some coin. I bought six tickets hoping to drag 5 friends along. One of those had to bail last second and I couldn't find anybody to take the ticket. I had the boys sign it for me. My first rarity! I bought a shirt and everybody that came with me bought somethin. I did what I could I still feel like I should do more. I do need to track down that WRLA for my lady. Any ideas on how to get one?

Oh, sh*t, my bad, homie. I made that last comment last time 'cause I thought you WERE a lady 'cause you wanted the shirt. Apologies.

But I think your best bet to get the lady's tee (other than attending another show) would be to email Brendan Irvine-Broque at info@pl70.net and ask if you can get a WRLA large somehow and tell him you'll be willing to pay for it. He might be able to work something out. One note though: Brendan's been so busy lately that he hasn't been answering many emails, but it's still worth a shot.

Oh, man, it's ALL good. No worries... but yeah, sometimes that's all you can do. My wife is an F cup (DDD), so that's pretty much the only way I can buy her clothes (thankfully, she does almost all of her shopping herself). Either go up a size, or tell her: "baby, if you can't fit into it... I'LL HELP YOU!!" Haha. Is it still pervvin' if it's your wife?

My wife even threw out a "You guys suck!" It wasn't loud enough for anybody but me to hear but it was only intended for me. Love that chic.

Another amusing anecdote- I was smoking out back and talkin to a couple of young bucks. They looked fresh outa high school and I had to ask how old they were. "22," one of them responded.

Me- "Oh man, you guys are makin me feel old."

Them- "What, you can't be more than 28."

Me- "sh!t, I was born in 1974."

Them- "Ya right!"

Me- "Actually, I wad born in '73."

Them- "Wow that's cool someone as old as you likes the P."

Me- "f*** you kid."

We all laughed at that point and went back in and got another drink.
