Don't consider it doggin, just call it creative critique. I think Kanye's better than Whatever Puffy's workin' on in the day to day struggle, but jus' cause cat's don't feel he's representing up to his full potential don't mean a dang thang. It could be a schise load worse, so long as I know what my competitions kicken, I could care less, EE.UU. gave us free speech, thus I apply it with the flyest. Opinions are like arse-holes, right?
Paz y salud, feliz dia de los trabajadores.

Posted 20 years ago #He always be saying some dumb stuff mang. I don't get it...

alright maybe not that bad, but curtis mayfield and gil scott-heron... i dont even think dude is tryin anymore....like the orginial of both those tracks more anyway -
Posted 20 years ago #Puffy Status? Nah!
Even though he's a sellout, I've a shitload more respect for Puff than West.
Puff produces (Ready To Die had some good beats), raps (not very good raps), Owns his own label (Kanye is signed to Jay-Z's label), Owns his own fashion label (only god knows why) and owns his own chain of stupidly expensive resturants.
Maybe if you said Jay-Z is on Puffy status, then you'd have a case. -
Posted 20 years ago #kanye west also has his own label [with john legend and common?] and is coming out with some clothes thing tho

Oh Sean, the Tybalt of our generation...
In terms of longterm consistency, Kanye's at where Sean was at after Puffy died and he did the rock remix of that track with Lox and Lil' Kim; popular, yet not without critics of how long it will last. I don't think I'd say I "respect" Combs, but he's been around longer and done more to further the business than I have, so no puedo hablar mierda [or I can't talk sh!t] since I haven't accomplished as much, but Kanye and Combs will just be interchangeable pieces in MTV's machina of desolation and general dissolution of pure musical talent. Combs used some hot samples, Kanye uses some hot samples; Puff occasionally spits that "hot fire", as does Kanye; but if I want commercial, I'll just watch The Price is Right. -
Posted 20 years ago #Ill agree with NRA, Kanye is on his way towards Puffy status.

Somebody should spit some "hot bars" breaking down Kanye like that, hehe.
