And for a more modern reggae sound, be sure to check out ziggy and stephen marley, they may be living in their fathers shadow but they are putting out some really good stuff....

Was disappointed to learn that the cool beatboxing sh!t under the entire song is just a loop from the drum program Native Instruments makes called Battery (Battery 3 to be specific) and not something they recorded for the song specifically......still a catchy tune though....g

Posts: 1,659Posted 13 years ago #On the subject of the snoop song... its not terrible. Its got Major Lazer on the producing side of things who are well established electronic music artists with a quality musical output (beyonce "borrowed" their pon de floor track)...
... and the track does have reggae all over it... that said, it lacks the one thing which crap music lacks, authenticity... it doesnt sound right from snoop and i dont think it ever will, he sold his soul for $$$ and i dont know if he can get it back...
Like i said, not terrible, but i dont think ill purchase it.

But I cam in here to say, on a modern reggae tip....you NEED to check Fat Freddys Drop, they are incredble and even better live...
And of course the amazing reggae/dub/ska of Gentlemans Dub Club...
