Everything seems more fun with beer, but being someone who's not into the herb lifestyle, I wanted to see what your opinions were about listening to music with weed... do you get more out of it? More enjoyable? More focus? Is there a downside to it?
That goes for creating music too... does it impair your ability to turn out a good beat, or does it clear your mind and give you a better slate to work with?

for me it, it sort of helps focus my attention to the music, but more importantly it helps zone me out.
when you get zoned out, you kind of stop thinking about time as far as duration of the song; that enables me to become engrossed in the music, feeling like i'm in it.
not to say my concentration on the musical content is thrown away when i'm stoned; on the contrary, it's like i focus so much that i cross some mental barrier where everything synchronizes and i see the big picture of a song, like the theme or something.
i can also talk to forever people via the space-time continuum.

I absolutely love listening to music high. My friend and i would blaze for hours just listening to all types od underground and instrumentals. For me i listen to the lyrics a lot more and try to break them down when im high. Or ill get into deep discussions about the songs meanings n lyrical content etc. i appreciate music sober of course, but i do enjoy it in a whole other way when im high

Good question.
Personally, I love to start making a beat while stoned. You can really get into a loop / groove and f*cking around with filters is amazing if you're really tuned in. BUT... I never turn out a final mix high. I always go back to mix it down later. Your ears will f*ck with you when you're high and, sometimes, sh*t sounds terrible when you sober up.
As for listening, I think the intro to this tune says it all.

When you get high, you forget about yourself. And when you forget about yourself, you can everything else. In this case, you hear the music more for what it is, and your judgments get put aside.

i remember reading about a scientific study once that determined that musicians use a different part of their brain when they listen to music, but a non musician would use some of that same part of the brain if they happened to be under the influence of THC...
or something like that.
i know for myself that everything sounds better after a puff, but that's just me.
