   Yo I got this album yesterday and it's mad. First time I listened to it I just found it unpredictable and incoherent but on a second listen it's sounding really good. These type thing s always need a few listens - hell the 1st album needed about 10 (a day )...
   
   Anyway man, formed from the ashes of At The Drive-In. The Mars Volta is like a modern Pink Floyd / Stockhausen type of prog rock with latino, funk influences. You really have to hear it yourself - get De Loused in the Comatorium first though cos that's easier to get into and (probably) a better record as it's amazing.
   
   Seeing this band in a couple weeks so looking forward...

   That would make sense. Was having a browse through that iTunes Music Store, remembering peeps talking bout this album, so did a few 30 sec previews of the tracks. Couldn't really get into it though. But it's not like I've even listened to the album once, I've heard 30 second bursts of some tracks!
   
   May need to check this out for real.

   get De-Loused in the Comatorium first man... it's nuts progressive rock on crack! The new album is harder to get into but still good. Seeing this band next Wednesday (I hear they just jam out about 2 songs for an hour)

   I actually bought this Mars Volta. I cant stand it. I listened to it like 5 times already. not my thing at all.

   new or old? like i say the new one is nuts but i reckon the old is real good. Give it a couple more listens though, the incoherency builds to realised composition

   saw this band on wednesday - was amazing. No supports - they just jammed out tracks for 2 hours straight. Nuts man, the drummer has some stamina

   I picked up this album as well. Wasn't into it at all at first, but it grows on you, just like Deloused in the Comatorium did. It does take quite a few listens to really start feelin it though.

   This album is fantastic. Yes, im a hip hop maniac, always will be, but damn. The Marz Volta is the best rock group putting our records in the past five or so years. Im not up on the "At the Drive In" albums but do like Deloused alot. Sheeeiiit! A hell of a lot, and although this album is nowhere near as good as that, it still rocks. A little much on the feedback sessions but f*** it. ITs dopedy dope. Starving Artists Crew for life.

    The album is coming along slow but sure. We have a couple keepers so far and are doing are very best. I will be moving to LA on the first. Probably permanantly so Its going to be a challenge to finish it. But, I hope the other boys are up for it. I would really like to do one more record before the SAC is called quits. Things will be a bit different this time around as Im sure you could imagine but along the same lines for sho. Im doing my best to keep the production strong and still change it up a little. Anyhow, Im sure there will be some teaming up with Thes, there always is. Talk to ya all soon.
