The P are at NYC this time
Sorry for the delay. I had class earlier this morning. But anyway on with the review. I first heard about it on Live Nation. As soon as I saw that tickets were online I bought tickets for me and my girlfriend. The funny thing was that she hasn't heard of PUTS but she tried to recite the lyrics when Thes and KK were performing and she even joined up on the momentum when PUTS engaged the crowd. I met a cool cat while in line that listen to the P since 2000. Wow man now that's a veteran especially coming from NYC.
So before the show even started I see Thes and KK at the merch table. I then become a little hesitant because I don't wanna be that weird asian guy that said hi to them before me. Too awkward. So I go up to Thes and introduce myself and I say I am Ol School Lover from the forums. Thes goes and gives me a handshake and says wassup. I then proceed telling me thanks for coming out here to NYC. I also thanked him for sending me the XMAS mixtape a couple years back. I also said that I enjoy his beatmaking etc.. I ask for Thes and KK to sign my poster. Then this is where it gets interesting. Thes and KK if you don't mind for us P fans they wanna know.
I asked Thes about Wonderful Radio. He said he is working on it. He said after the tour that he should be in better shape. He possibly might want to finish Music to Board Volumes. We talked about the July 3rd car accident he had. I told him I had a similar experience when I was in a bike and I got hit by a car. Interestingly though I asked KK about his Solo Album and he said hes half way working on the project but hes afraid no one would like it. I said no I would gladly listen to it. Then I asked if American Men Vol.2 will ever be release and he said "You know what that's a good idea and I will consider that" Lets see I have my fingers crossed.
The first act was a young local rapper from Queens named Bryant Dope. His rhymes were a bit chopped here and there. I was a bit skeptical at first but he is doing his thing cant blame him. He kept saying "come on bounce" which was a bit weird. But he was confident and not so repetitive. His last song "Everything Gorgeous" had the crowd going a little bit. Here's a site that has his music: http://www.queenskidstape.com/
Why is it that the second act always always sucks? I mean not all do but if you are the second its not a good thing. The second act was by a guy named Fat Tony. He is from Houston, Texas. Fat Tony is his MC name? Really? The beats had no rhythm in them at all. He kept saying that he had a fat dick and that your girl gave him head in his songs. His friend ,while the P were playing, was spectating the happiness P fans were having while the P performed and he wasn't happy. What does that tell you?
So when this torture of lame music was done. Thes and KK were getting ready and testing the mic. PUTS opened up with Self Destruction and then the Second Track. Here are some of the highlights(not in particular order):
Step Bacc: Double K was stratching the turntables like a beast. It lead to "If You Wanna Have Some Fun" skit
Up Yo Spine (Live At The Fishbucket pt. 3) Everybody yelled WHOOOPAH!!! " I heard on facebook thanks for the add"
Tuxedo Rap This was the crowds favorite. It was so cool. Everything felt like 1980s in NYC.
Beer "If You Dont Like Beer Get the f*** Outta here" Thats all I gotta say
Tales of a Funky Drunkadelic My Bros favorite. Everyone seemed pretty chill. A time to relax from jumping.
Mean Spirited I like this one. Many people havent heard it yet.
Yield We kept yelling "Party People!!!" OHHH!!! So awesome
Blowin Wax I like the way KK flipped this one!
Plunken Em I cant believe when I yelled this out. No one knew what this joint was.
Acid Raindrops The hipsters favorite. When KK say who like to light up. My girl screamed.
San Franciso Knights I had my lighters up man. Dont forget to bring your lighter. My fingers got a little burned
Encore We wanted more so Thes was on his drum machine and people screamed and KK was scratching and they were saying thanks. PUTS is so awesome.

Time to Rock Our sh!t I yelled the song title and KK looked at me smiling. hahaha. I loved the bass.
Double K Show I just pictured me skateboarding to this man. The whole time I froze and knodded my head
The Breakdown This reminds me of my study sessions. But watching it live was finally a reality.
LA9X Damn the crowd was hype we all hype that they were tired from touring from all the way in LA
Montego Slay KK was smooth with this one. He almost made the ladies get too excited. This was his time to shine
The Suite For Beaver (Part 1) Hell yeah nice and sticky like all our buds. Nah but seriously this one hit the spot.
After it was done my voice was sour and I thanked God I could have made it to see them. Being my first show, I was amazed. Thes and KK showed New York that they appreciate hip hops roots. If it wasnt for the pioneers they would not be standing. This was undoubtedbly the best hip hop show I have ever been in.
But Seriously if Thes and KK are reading this, I just wanted to say Thank You. Thank You for coming to NYC and lifting many hip hop lovers. I hope to go to another soon. BTW theres the pic in the bottom they signed for me.
