Posts: 8Posted 20 years ago #hey guys i recently got a laptop and he other day i picked up a cord to connect my tunrtable to my sound card, but i was wondering if anyone knew the names of any porgrms that woudl do the job of a sampler( so it woudl read the vinyl and you can pull off different parts/loops and arrange them (if such a program even exists?) thanks -

Posts: 508Posted 20 years ago #i've use Sonic Foundry's Sound Forge its great for large Audio Tasks and general Sampling, i used it for editing tracks for converting to MP3, or Steinberg's Wavelab thats also good for that though it's a bit slow on converting the .WAVs to MP3s but that might be my PC.
But if you want to arrange i used to use Emagic's Logic Audio its simpler to use than Cubase and perfect for audio aranging.
OR if you want to be sample crazy then i would suggest Ableton Live its the craziest piece of audio software i've ever used, Version 7 also lets you use MIDI.
If you're using a laptop it will proably sample in Mono, look that up first, you might need some type of USB / external soundcard to get stereo in here in fact i would advise it as sampling using the laptop mic in is very notisy.
Hope the above is of some use, i know others on here will be able to give you more advise but take less page space !:-) -

Trouble is i now need a proper tower PC! just gonna have to save up.
SLC is right plenty of stuff around.....follow dat nose
