   Yo can someone help me?? I just got a MPC 1000 and ive been reading and everything bout it and I cant figure out how to assign a damn sample or something to a pad.....Im pretty sure ill learn everything else but it is bothering me not being able to tap the MPC and nothing comes out...I can record samples and stuff just fine but I cant get anythign assigned!!! Can anyone help me?

   can't help much myself as i still have a crusty old MPC2000, but i knnow a guy SF Knight on this forum who has an MPC1000 who could help alternatively goto http://www.mpc-forums.com and search the boards there is got tone of info.

   agreed its mad you can't even ask a simple question anymore without somebody jumping on ya, gave up on that ages ago, I know that in the MPC2000 you have to the program section and assign your samples from there by pressing the pad you want the sample on and scrolling to the sample using the wheel....don't know about the 1000, looks like you'll have to google my friend!

   Yo yo bro, ok aslong as you've got samples in your mpc1000, first you load em up. hit mode (flashes), then load (pad2) once everything is loaded hit mode again, then program (pad 7) the screen with show A1 on the left and 4 layers on the right so jus go to the first one and scroll through ur samples til u find something u want, then go back to main and it'll be on the pad u selected..

   Hmm sounds a bit weird dude.. if you are doin everything I was saying. Can you tell me what exactly is happeneing when you try and assign samples to the pads?

    When I assign the sample it shows that it is there and all but when I hit a1 or whatever i assign it to it doesnt play. The only way Ive gotten to play something is if i goto Trim and listen to all the samples. Other than that Im stuck. I did upgrade the OS to the Newest JJ OS...would that have anything to do with it?

    Might have something to do with that ye. I've got version 2.10 so maybe you should try and operate it on that

    Is there anyone on here with JJ's os on their MPC 1000???
