Hey just wanted to gauge your opinion on the current state of the international community with reference to North Korea and
Iraq
now i know you all seen the current death toll statistics taken from iraq recently
death toll at 655,000 since 2003 start of coalition campaign!
i condemn this and saddam , but in 30 yrs saddam only killed 300,000
and alot of the 655000 are innocent people needlessly killed for what !
oh yeh the mythical WMD;s
which were never found , why didnt saddam do a test like north korea to keep the other nuclear powers of its back , because they didnt have anything to test!
north korea does , why aint the coalliton invading there to isntall domacracy?
i want your thoughts! !
please
not trying to start an arguement just want some thoughts !

Posted 19 years ago #you can't "install" democracy. thats why they mucked up iraq. it would never work.
north korea is a diferent situation - if theres any military invasion, be sure theyre gonna put up one hell of a fight. so i really doubt US is gonna do anything of those proportions. -
Posted 19 years ago #kim jong is a nutter so no one really wants to mess with him, especially as it's now proven they have nukes. plus there's nothing good there to get out of it.
even more sanctions is really gonna mess up n korea's people though, they basically have famines on a yearly basis. Notice how Japan was the 1st to react and sanction north korea (even more) - old nihon must be shitting themselves seeing as they are probably kim's first target if it all pops off. -
Posted 19 years ago #that would be a major blow if japan took one in the guts !
i doubt NK have the technology to deploy a proper missle though, i think they have really bad technology unless someone stupid like america had previously sold them low grade technology which they could modify!
even then i doubt they have the funding and the resources to pull it off now , what with all these upcoming sanctions its gonna hurt north korea, the people will suffer and what happens when the government wont help the people , that causes a rift and chaos ensues either revolution by the people or complete anarchy!
there are bound to be movements within north korea who appose kim jung ill
i hope it doesnt escalte to extreme sh!t! -

Iraq, it was a BS reason to invade. I mean there could be several motives why other than WMD's for instance: Oil, Following through with Daddy's plans, "Terrorism" ect..
1. Oil- Well probably because obviously the Bush Administration is going to benefit with their ties in the industry, which is total f*cking bullsh|t. But, we Americans aren't seeing any benefits from thus far, but I can't complain or say "yay" because I don't own a car(btw I got hit by a car on my bike the other day..such BS)
2. Daddy's Plan- I thought I'd play Devil's Advocate here and say there were some ulterior motives for invading Iraq, but personally, I don't know, who does?
3. Terrorism, same with #2, but anyone with a brain would agree that with Sadaam not in power, the world is a LITTLE safer. Was it worth it? I don't know...
N. Korea..well sh!t. It's pretty damn scary. As an American I can say deep in my psyche I am a little paranoid living in the most hated country in the world. As an American I think it's naturally embedded to be jaded. Were given these freedoms we take advantage of, but we don't know any other way. I didn't grow up priveledged(thank god) but I can see how how some people don't know how good they have it(especially living in LA now).
But anyway, do they have proficient ICMB technology? I don't think they do. For them to attack anyone country would cause a serious setback to them, Kim Jong isn't that stupid...or is he?
I guess we'll see. -
Posted 19 years ago #Heres a shot at it. The US wanted to establish another sattelite in the region besides Israel, because its seing the region becoming more "radicalized". Iran's nuclear program and Hamas' victory in Palestine are examples of that. But guess what - the world ISNT safer with saddam out of power. We got a generation of Muslims thats growing up on war in Iraq. Im pretty sure America just created a few million potential al-Qaeda members.

Posted 19 years ago #imho - US got lots of troubles within itself, i dunno why it gets involved with all these conflicts across the globe.
I also think that the North Korea situation has been bubbling for a long long time now, and to get this far shows how reactive everyone is.
The US, England, France, Pakistan and all the other muppets with nuclear technology are a little hypocritical getting all tense at small nations like Iran and NK running tests. So much for leading by example...
...anyways, lets get back to the PUTS... -
Posted 19 years ago #Alibi, you hit it pretty good. I should rephrase and say the world is safer that Sadamm isn't in power, however the way it occurred made it unsafer..Does that make sense, or did I word it wrong?
Basically is Sadam died in say, a car accident, it would be safer. But since he was overrrun and captured by the US, it makes it worse.
I try not to get too worked up by this stuff because I have no control over politics, the only time I get a little control is one day every 4 years..which ain't really a democracy is it?
Back to the P! -
Posted 19 years ago #i don't feel like i'm taking too far a shot when i say nearly every agrees that we are f***ing up... i think the only things that this war has proved is that the US is not invincible and that bush is a retard. as for north korea, i am not threatened by them at all, i think that kim is crazy and just using the tests to get what he wants through negotiations.
